Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Woodlake Elementary Community Charter!
Dear Woodlake Families and Community,
Welcome to Woodlake Elementary Community Charter! I'm thrilled to extend a warm greeting to both our returning families and those who are new to our vibrant school community. As principal, I'm incredibly proud of the rich and engaging learning environment we've cultivated here, where every child is encouraged to explore, discover, and grow.
At Woodlake, we are committed to academic excellence. Our curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in core subjects, utilizing highly effective programs. In English Language Arts, we implement CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts), which builds strong literacy skills through a knowledge-rich curriculum. For mathematics, we use Eureka Math, fostering deep conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities. Our science program is powered by Foss Science, offering hands-on investigations that spark curiosity and critical thinking. To further support modern learning, we are proud to offer 1-1 technology for all students and Promethean Boards in every classroom, enhancing interactive learning experiences.
Beyond academics, Woodlake Elementary is a hub of creativity and innovation. Our state-of-the-art STEAM Innovation Lab provides exciting opportunities for students to engage in hands-on projects, fostering skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. We believe in the power of the arts to enrich lives, which is why we offer comprehensive programs in Art with our artist in residence, music, dance, and our instrumental music program. Our students also benefit from an engaging garden ranger program that connects students with nature, teaching them about sustainability and the environment. These vibrant programs are made possible through the generous support of both the District and our PTSA.
We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success. Our dedicated staff, supportive PTSA, and engaged community work together to create a nurturing and challenging environment where all students can thrive.
We invite you to explore our website further to learn more about our programs, events, and how you can become involved in the Woodlake community. We look forward to a fantastic school year filled with learning, laughter, and growth!
Warmly,
Amy Pedersen
