About English Learner Advisory Committee
We encourage you to make a difference in the governance of our school by participating in our school's English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). Listening, elevating, and acting upon the voices of our students and community members promotes deeper engagement and improves our ability to serve responsively.
California Education Code 52176(b) states that all schools with twenty-one or more English Learner (EL) students, not including Reclassified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP) students, are required to establish an ELAC. The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is developed with the review, certification, and advice of the ELAC and submitted to the SSC for inclusion of ELs in the SPSA. The ELAC consists of parents/legal guardians of ELs, not employed by LAUSD.
